Gymnastics 2008 Olympics

My favorite Olympic Sport is Gymnastics I might be partial but I can't help but LOVE this sport. Gymnastics might be fun for all of you to watch but no one but gymnasts understand the excitment we get from watching it in the olympics or from actually being a gymnast. I'm not going to lie it makes me miss it sooooo much. After watching I just want to go work out and do some routines I get a rush. Mandi you understand.

I am so proud of our gymnasts and they were so frustrating exciting and fun to watch. I am getting excited for the individual event competition. The United States Women's Gymnastics team won the silver metal and China won the Gold. I was so hoping that we would win the gold again and we were so close. It has been since the magnificent seven in the 96 olympics since the team won the Gold. I remember that so clearly and I can't believe I was only 9 when that happened. But I am so happy that they won the silver. They are such a cute group of girls and so stinkin talented. I know they make it look easy but believe me they have busted their little butts their whole gymnastics career to look the way they do out there.

Thursday Night Ty and I watched the All-Around Women's Gymnastics Competition. It was a rollercoaster and it didn't turn out the way I thought it would or the way I would have hoped but it still turned out really good.
Little Shawn Johnson is my favorite gymnast from the 2008 Beijing olympics. I don't know what it is about this 4 foot 9 girl but I can't take my eyes off of her when she is out there competing. She has beautiful lines and she is always smiling. She is having fun out there. With all of the stress and pressure she is still smiling and loving what she knows best and has worked for her whole life. Shawn had the highest All-around in the Olympic trials and I felt like America was so lucky to have her in China to represent Gymnastics and the United States. So far she has earned her silver in the team competition and last night she won her second olympic silver in the All Around cometition and she was only six tenths from Gold. Her floor routine at the end of the competition was AMAZING! I can't wait to see what she will win in the individual events.
Nastia Liukin is the other top gymnast from the United States this year. Last night she was a great representation of the United States taking the All-Around Gold Medal! She is also going to do great in the individuals. Make us proud girls.

New Phones!

Hello again! So this is a record, it's my second blog in a row without Whitney doing one!

So we've been excited this week because we both got new phones! :) I was up for an upgrade on my line so we went to the Verizon store here where my friend works and picked out the new Dare. It's all touch screen, which has taken some getting used to but I love it now. I've been having fun figuring out all the new little features, the most useless of which is that it will read my text messages to me! Totally useless, but cool. Anywho, Whit isn't up for an upgrade til January but her Razor has been giving her problems for a long time now and she really needed a new phone, so we went on Ebay and found a good deal on a new Chocolate, so that will last her til her real upgrade at which point we'll probably just sell the one she got this week. She is way excited for her new cute phone. And it was the first time we had ever bid in an Ebay auction, which is quite exhilarating! So I know it's random that we're blogging about our phones, but we love them and thought it was worth blogging about!

Whitney's new Chocolate! She loves the color, she says it matches her hair straightener!

My new Dare! It's sweet!

Another note... Whit is almost done with her online chemistry class and I am so freaking proud of her! Her final is tomorrow and she has been doing awesome so far. Her two tests she has gotten a 98 and a 94, she's doing so good! Anyway, I just thought I'd brag about how smart my wife is, she has totally taught herself the basics of chemistry from a book and online notes! I'm so proud of you honey!

Howdy ya'll! Well since Whitney has done pretty much all of our blogging we decided that I needed to take another turn. She has put in a lot of time to making our blog look cute and has done a lot in keeping it up to date, so it's definitely my turn to post.

So we made a very exciting discovery this week. So anyone who knows my family knows that we have an obsession with a drink called Manzanita Sol. It's a Mexican apple soda that we all LOVE! The only problem is that you can't find it in Utah, so every time my Dad makes one of his thousand trips to California for work he stocks up with a ton of it, and they still seem to only last for a very short time. Well Whit and I were shopping the other day and walking down the soda isle at Walmart and I saw out of the corner of my eye a Walmart brand soda called Apple Manzana. With a name like that we figured it was probably the generic version of our family's favorite drink, and sure enough it's exactly the same! I know this may sound like a lame thing to blog about to some of you, but those who know and love this drink will surely appreciate it.
The nectar of the Gods

Anyway, as every woman in the world knows the final Twilight book was released Friday night at midnight. Like the majority of you girls, Whit loves the books and is in love with an imaginary vampire named Edward. Well she was way excited and wanted to go get the book right when it came out. The funny thing is that with her extremely busy schedule right now with work and school, she hasn't had the chance to finish the second or third books. But she thought it would be fun anyway to go get it so we got to Walmart at 11:30 and there was already a huge line that went through half the store! Luckily they were well stocked and Whit got her brand new copy of Breaking Dawn! She has been really good though about doing her homework too :)

I will admit that I think the cover art to these books are pretty sweet
One last note... My cousin Adam and his wife Leslie came over for dinner tonight and brought their XBox 360 and Guitar Hero for the after dinner entertainment. Well Whit has been way scared of trying it and she didn't think that she would really like it anyway. After some encouragement from the rest of us she tried it out, and now she loves it! And for her first time she is doing way awesome! She really surprised herself about how much she is enjoying it, so thank you Adam and Leslie for bringing it over and letting us borrow it!
